ONSA Refinery, the shareholding of Altınbaş, was established as a pilot scale plant in 2005 with the support of TTGV (Technology Development Foundation of Turkey) and then production has commenced to the degree of self-sufficiency. In 2006 the establishment of the plant that is operating now was occurred. During the installation phase of the refinery, by examining the other refineries that are serving in European Union countries, targets are defined as not only the quality of the product and service, but also working with environment friendly technologies. The plant which is structured accordingly, was founded in 2006 with its chemical refining and gas refining systems in order not to harm environment. Other than that, our plant has proven the given importance to quality, environment and work safety with its ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificates.
Facility, resulting in the jewelry manufacturing process; the scraps and wastes of different karats that include precious metals, are refined with king water or quartation method and from 99.95 to 99.99% purity gold and silver are obtained. Other than that, polish wastes, wash water, aqueous-dry levelling wastes, blasting water, waste water of electrolytic plating bath, used crucibles, slags and wastes are recovered in the refinery. ONSA Refinery has the capacity of 130 tones / year gold and 130 tones / year silver refining.

Produced pure gold are offered to customers as 995 infantry mil lining and 1 kg ingot and also 995 infantry mil and 916 infantry mil gram gold production is maintained.ONSA Refinery presents an ambitious stance with its laboratory infrastructure and trained personnel.

Thanks to ICP, XRF and titrator devices in the laboratory; analysis of gold and other precious metals from all kinds of solid wastes, solutions and ores can be performed. ONSA carries authority for making analysis about precious metals and precious stones and giving expertise with its “Private Karat House Certificate of Authority” taken from General Directorate of Mint and Stamp Print House. In other respects, for the purpose of confirming that the service provided in the laboratory is of international quality ISO 17025 International Accreditation study has started.Aiming to increase product range and the quality of service provided to sector, ONSA Refinery has started its R&D studies with TUBITAK Project in 2011 and after project was completed in 2013, work continues in full spate.
